Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps one become mindful of their uncomfortable and unwanted thoughts and feelings, rather than avoiding them. People often wait for a perfect moment that is “worry-free”, in order for them to make changes in life. However, rather than waiting for such a moment, ACT teaches clients to take initiatives in making value-based behavioural changes, by using unhooking or Cognitive Defusion techniques. This helps them create a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
